Learning Mentor – Goodmayes
Location: Goodmayes
Salary: £25,000–£30,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time
We Educate Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Mentor to join a welcoming school in Goodmayes from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will provide valuable academic, pastoral and emotional support to pupils who may require additional guidance and encouragement.
The Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring support
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and engagement
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Supporting pupils with their academic and personal development
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and families
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to support plans
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Is patient, approachable and able to build strong relationships
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential
- Can provide consistent and positive encouragement
- Is confident supporting pupils with a range of academic, social and emotional needs
Previous experience in a school, youth work, mentoring, care or similar setting would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
