General Teaching Assistant – Basildon
Location: Basildon
Salary: £24,000–£28,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
We Educate Recruitment are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Basildon from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential within the classroom.
The Role:
- Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons
- Providing one-to-one and small group support where required
- Helping pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
- Supporting classroom activities and learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Preparing classroom resources and materials
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Is patient, caring and enthusiastic
- Is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Is reliable, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference
Previous experience working within a school or education setting would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply. Training and support can be provided for the right candidate.
