Caretaker – Orsett
Location: Orsett
Salary: £25,000–£32,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time
We Educate Recruitment are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Orsett from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and responsible individual to play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.
The Role:
- Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
- Ensuring the premises are safe, secure and well maintained
- Conducting regular site checks and reporting any issues
- Supporting the opening and closing of the school premises
- Liaising with contractors and external service providers
- Assisting with health and safety checks
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience in caretaking, maintenance or a similar practical role
- Has good general maintenance and practical skills
- Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Has a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Has good communication and problem-solving skills
- Understands the importance of health and safety in the workplace
Previous experience working within a school, commercial or public building environment would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
