School Counsellor – Redbridge
Location: Redbridge
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time or part-time
We Educate Recruitment are currently seeking a qualified and compassionate School Counsellor to join a supportive school in Redbridge from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled counselling professional to provide emotional and mental health support to pupils and help them manage challenges that may affect their wellbeing, development and education.
The Role:
- Providing one-to-one counselling and emotional support to pupils
- Supporting students with a range of personal, social and emotional challenges
- Developing positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Working closely with pastoral teams and safeguarding staff
- Contributing to the wider wellbeing provision within the school
- Liaising with parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a recognised counselling qualification
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Is compassionate, patient and approachable
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Can work professionally and sensitively with pupils experiencing a range of challenges
Experience working within a school, youth service, NHS or similar setting would be beneficial. Candidates must have the appropriate qualifications and experience to provide counselling support to young people.
