Job Opportunity: Specialist Teaching Assistant (ASD Provision)

Pay: £80–£100 per day
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We are seeking a dedicated, patient and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our highly nurturing early years ASD provision in Hornchurch.
About the Role
You will be supporting a small group of children in Reception and Year 1, all with ASD, who are developing pre-verbal or early vocabulary communication skills. The successful candidate will help create a safe, engaging and structured learning environment tailored to the needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children in following visual schedules and using core boards for communication.
- Deliver and assist with a range of intervention-based activities including:
- Attention Autism (Bucket Time)
- TacPac
- Pairing and Intensive Interaction
- The Curiosity Approach
- Phonics and early reading (Read Write Inc)
- Workstation tasks and structured teaching
- Sensory and messy play activities
- Food tasting and basic life skills sessions
- Support access to a curriculum based on the EYFS 16 areas of learning, adapted to individual needs.
- Provide personal care where required, including nappy changing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with the children and support their emotional regulation.
About You
