We-Educate are recruiting a confident and resilient Permanent Cover Supervisor to work in a dynamic and challenging secondary school in Canvey Island. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in education without the requirement for QTS.
You will be covering lessons across all subjects, maintaining high expectations of behaviour, and ensuring learning continues in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Managing behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive classroom environment
- Supporting students to stay on task and complete work set
- Building strong working relationships with staff and students
- Ensuring continuity of learning and upholding school policies
- Adapting quickly to different classes and age groups
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people (school, coaching, tutoring, youth work, etc.)
- Strong behaviour management skills, especially in challenging environments
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- Adaptable, assertive, and calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
