About the Role
We Educate is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants in Basildon to support children across a range of primary schools and SEN schools in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and make a real impact on their learning and development.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you may work 1:1, with small groups, or across whole classes. Your role is to help pupils engage with lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their potential. Whether you have previous experience or are starting your career in education, we provide full training and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with SEN in learning, behaviour, and personal development
- Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored, inclusive lessons
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Candidate Requirements
- Passion for working with children and making a difference
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Previous experience with children desirable but not essential
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN, or Education qualifications beneficial but not required
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally
