Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Hornchurch)
Pay: £85–£100 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
We-Educate are seeking a caring and committed Year 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Global Developmental Delay in a friendly and supportive primary school in Hornchurch. The pupil also has partial hearing loss and epilepsy, so the successful candidate must be calm, attentive, and confident following guidance from the school’s SEN and medical teams.
About the Role:
- Offering consistent 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with additional learning and developmental needs
- Assisting with communication, learning tasks, and emotional regulation
- Following tailored strategies provided by SENCO, teachers, and external specialists
- Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment
- Supporting the pupil during class activities, transitions, and routines
- Being vigilant and responsive to the pupil’s health and well-being needs under school guidance
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with children with SEND (GDD, hearing needs, or medical needs desirable)
- A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Confidence working 1:1 and adapting to the pupil’s pace
- A strong commitment to helping the child access learning and thrive
