SEN Teaching Assistant – South Ockendon
Location: South Ockendon
Salary: £24,000–£28,000 per annum
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
We Educate Recruitment are currently seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in South Ockendon from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential.
The Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
- Helping to implement individual learning and support plans
- Working alongside teachers and other support staff
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting pupils to become more confident and independent
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Is patient, compassionate and understanding
- Is confident supporting pupils with additional needs
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people
Previous experience working with SEN, autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour would be beneficial, although candidates with transferable experience are encouraged to apply. Training and support can be provided for the right candidate.
