About the Role
We are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Romford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want classroom experience without the responsibility of planning and marking.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage a classroom, deliver pre-prepared work, and ensure pupils remain engaged and on task. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people in education, coaching, or mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-set lessons to classes in the absence of the teacher
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Ensure pupils remain focused and complete assigned work
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to the absent teacher regarding pupil progress
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people (education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, etc.)
- Confident classroom presence with good behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different subjects
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
