We are currently recruiting motivated and dependable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the education sector or for those seeking a flexible and rewarding role within schools.
Role of a Cover Supervisor:
A Cover Supervisor is responsible for managing a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. The role involves delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, maintaining order in the classroom, ensuring students remain engaged in their learning, and upholding the school’s policies and expectations. While you are not expected to teach new content, you will provide support, guidance, and supervision to help students stay on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences.
- Deliver and oversee work set by the classroom teacher.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide support to students to ensure learning continues effectively.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- A flexible and proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
