About the Role
We Educate is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants in Hockley to support children across a range of primary schools and SEN schools in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity to help pupils with special educational needs (SEN) develop academically, socially, and personally.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you may work 1:1, in small groups, or across classrooms. Your role is to support pupils’ learning, confidence, and independence. Full training and ongoing support are provided, whether you have experience or are just starting your career in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with SEN in learning, behaviour, and personal development
- Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Candidate Requirements
- Passion for working with children and supporting their education
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Previous experience with children desirable but not essential
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN, or Education qualifications beneficial but not required
- Willingness to learn and engage in professional development
